Our principal aim:

The Link Forum is an independent body that plays an active role in influencing the shape and delivery of services in Wirral for children and young people.

VCF logo.The Forum continues to ensure that the voice of the Voluntary, Community and Faith Sectors is heard, that its partnership with statutory services is formally recognised and promoted and that information sharing between the Sectors is encouraged and proactive.

We invite any organisation from the Voluntary, Community and Faith Sectors with an interest in promoting the well-being of children and young people to join the Link Forum.

Our proposals to our Sectors

  • Promote the voice of the Voluntary, Community and Faith sectors through an appointed Link worker
  • Promote full membership and contribution to the Children and Young People’s Plan through strong partnership links and communication
  • Engage in information sharing protocols of the child index programme
  • Celebrate the vitality and diverse contributions of the Voluntary, Community and Faith Sectors
  • Meet regularly, through formal and informal arrangements to promote partnership opportunities and share progress
  • Promote and encourage areas of expertise
  • Ensure effective Training and Equipping of the Sector members
  • Create the necessary links that strengthen the Sector as equal partners with statutory bodies.

Our contribution to the five Every Child Matters outcomes

The Link Forum endeavours to have representation in all outcome areas and ensure strategic representation for planning, delivery and celebration of the services in the three Sectors.

BEING HEALTHY
The Voluntary, Community and Faith sectors encourage health education, health promotion and access and compliance with all appropriate health services.

STAYING SAFE
The Sectors ensure maximum safeguarding is considered and delivered in all initiatives and activities and does promote preventative work and compliance with CRB checks and the Local Safeguarding Board procedures and training requirements.

ENJOYING AND ACHIEVING
The Voluntary, Community and Faith Sectors contribute to promoting high standards in formal and informal education and continue to deliver positive diversionary activities in environments that are well known and established as a community resource.

MAKING A POSITIVE CONTRIBUTION
The Voluntary, Community and Faith Sectors continue to promote and acknowledge the wealth of contributions and passionate engagement of children and young people through their voluntary status, their schools, churches and youth groups through local authority initiatives and through active citizenship.

SOCIAL & ECONOMIC WELL-BEING
The Voluntary, Community and Faith Sectors continue to encourage strong leadership, continuous personnel development, training and the equipping of children and young people to strengthen their contributions to community and to their own well-being.
